Web design · Small brands that sell online
Websites for brands that sell things.
An online shop that looks like your brand, takes card payments, and lets you add new products yourself.
I’ve built shops for honey, wine, tools and gear for worksites. They’re all small Australian brands with a handful of products, which needs a different approach to a big store with thousands.

Shops I’ve built

It should look like your brand
A template shop can make a great product look like everyone else’s. A shop designed for you carries your brand all the way through, from the product page to the cart to the email that says it’s on its way.

Good photos sell
People shop with their eyes first. Big, honest photos and clear details mean customers don’t have to email you to ask what size it is.

An easy checkout
Card payments through Stripe, in Australian dollars, with postage shown up front. Unexpected costs at the last step are one of the most common reasons people leave without buying.

Perry’s Honey
A single-origin honey producer west of Townsville. Brand and shop together, with a cart, a Stripe checkout and an editor for each new harvest.

Barrowmate
An Australian-made cover that turns a wheelbarrow into mobile storage. A new kind of product, so the site shows how it works before asking for the sale.

Handee
A new tool brand launching with one kit. The logo, packaging and online shop, all ready before launch.

Sometimes Wine
An alcohol-free red wine. A brand and website with plenty of movement, including a bottle you can spin before you buy.

- Why not just use Shopify?
- Shopify is great if you have hundreds of products. If you have a handful, a custom shop can look more like your brand and costs very little to run each month, though it costs more to build up front.
- How do I get paid?
- Through Stripe, straight into your business account. The Stripe account is set up in your name, so the money and your customer details are always yours.
- What about postage?
- A flat rate, with free postage over an amount you choose. If you need live Australia Post rates later, they can be added without rebuilding the shop.
- Can I sell at markets too?
- Yes. Stripe does card readers, so the same account can take money at a stall and online, and it all lands in one place.
- What if I sell out?
- You manage stock in the editor. When something sells out it shows as sold out, so you don’t take orders you can’t fill, and you can switch it back on when it’s back in stock.
